Trainee PSI under probe over admission to Police Academy using fake appointment letter

Gandhinagar: The principal of Gujarat Police Academy in Karai in Gandhinagar on Tuesday in a press release informed that one student was under probe for making a fake appointment letter to get admitted to the academy as a trainee Police Sub Inspector. The accused trainee had managed to get a valid appointment letter from someone else and managed to produce a fake appointment letter of his own using an app.

As per the press release – Karai academy has 582 trainees in the Police Sub Inspector grade. While making of salary bills in February 2023, it was noticed that one trainee namely Mayur Laljibhai Tadvi was not mentioned in the register of passed candidates. The matter was put to the notice of higher officials of the Gujarat Police Academy in Karai. A secret probe was initiated to check whether some gang is involved in this irregularity or not. A candidate in question Mayur Lalji Tadvi was under watch and his all documents were under scrutiny. His mobile number was also put under surveillance to get the details of his contacts in the last three months. The initial probe revealed that Mayur Lalji Tadvi had managed to get the appointment letter of Mehul Karsanbhai Rathwa on 9 January this year. He then replaced the name of Vishalsinh Tersinh Rathwa, candidate number 3 with his own name, using an app.

He then used this fake appointment letter to get admission in Karai-based Police Academy. It’s worth noting that on 20th February this year, one Dhara Joshi, a resident of Ahmedabad had been held for producing fake documents to get entry as a trainee at Gujarat Police Academy in Karai. Dabhoda Police Station had filed a complaint in that regard.
