Principal and 2 students of GL Kakadia College arrested for paper leak in Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar: The police in Bhavnagar have arrested an in-charge principal of a college and two students for allegedly leaking the question paper of BCom semester 6.

The paper of finance accounting went viral on Twitter on Monday. The in-charge principal, Amit Galani, of GL Kakadiya Commerce, affiliated with Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, and two students – Vivek Makwana and Ajay Ladumor have been accused of leaking the paper to Srusti Borda, who lived in the college’s hostel.

Galani, who was the coordinator for the exam centre allotted to his college, instead of keeping the sealed cover of the question paper in the strong room of the college, took it in his possession and opened the seal. He clicked the photo of the question paper and gave his mobile to Srusti, who in turn sent it to Makwana and then passed it on to Ladumor. Ladumor also sent the photos to two other students, Yashpalsinh Gohil and Rahul Dangar, who made it viral on Twitter.

The preliminary investigation by the committee appointed by the university revealed that the entire incident happened between 12:43 pm to 3:12 pm on Monday.

The accused are booked under IPC sections of criminal breach of trust by public servants and criminal conspiracy at Neelambaug police station. The university has permanently cancelled Galani’s professorship and stripped the college of its examination centre status.

The executive council will decide whether to cancel the college’s affiliation with the university, and the decision regarding whether to conduct a re-examination of the paper will depend on the police report, informed a university official. DeshGujarat
