Gujarat Panchayat Junior Clerk Recruitment Exam conducted smoothly; Results in June

Gandhinagar: The recruitment exam for vacant posts of Junior Clerks in the Panchayat department of the Government of Gujarat concluded today smoothly without any controversy. Over 9.50 lakh youths had registered for this exam which was postponed due to a question paper leak previously.

According to IPS Hasmukh Patel who heads Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB) as an in-charge Chairman, 7.30 lakh of those who registered for the exam had downloaded call letters. Patel said the exact number of how many candidates who attended the exam shall be known later. Patel said the exam today witnessed several firsts – such as the use of body-worn cameras, removal of shoes at the entrance of the exam halls, cash payment for transportation fare to the candidates and more.

Patel said today’s exam was conducted under the best possible SOPs (Standard Operation Protocol). Patel said the results are expected in the month of June. When asked about the complain from the students that the question paper was lengthy, Patel in his reply stated that it was deliberate. He added that lenghty question paper would not give time for cheating to candidates. He further added that the paper would be lenghty for all the candidates and therefore there would not be injustice to any.

Patel said around 75,000 staffers from across all departments were involved in today’s exam, for which special trains and buses were also operated. DeshGujarat
