Surat: The sale of duty-free gold for jewellery exporters at a newly set up gold distribution centre in SBI’s main branch in Chowk Bazar has begun in Surat for the first time in Gujarat through the State Bank of India(SBI), on-demand from the Surat Jewellery Manufacturer Association (SJMA). So far the majority of over 450 jewellery-making units were purchasing duty-free gold from Mumbai. Now a set up of a 50 kg gold vault will give a level-playing field for local jewellery exporters with exporters from other countries. DeshGujarat
