AMC to demolish footpaths at Pallav Crossroads

Naranpura: In the aftermath of the contractor abandoning the construction of Pallav Crossroads in Naranpura, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to demolish the footpaths at the crossroads to ease traffic congestion during peak hours.

The construction of the flyover hit a major roadblock a few months ago when the contractor responsible for the project, Ajay Engi-Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, abandoned the project after completing only 30% of the work. Later, the AMC issued two notices to the contractor regarding the halted construction but received no response. Now, the civic body has decided to demolish the footpaths across the road to ease the traffic problem caused due to the abandoned project.

It is noteworthy that the contractor Ajay Engi-Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. was also responsible for the controversial construction of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj flyover in Hatkeshwar, which is scheduled for demolition in a few months. DeshGujarat
