Villagers seek closure of godown of crackers fearing huge incident of fire

Modasa: The locals of Gajan village have demanded the shifting of a big godown of crackers as it can cause a huge fire incident in the village.

The locals pointed out that recently, a godown of crackers in Lalpurkampa had caught in fire killing four persons. The godown was owned by Maheshwari Crackers. The same company has another godown of crackers outside Gajan village under the title of Madhav Pyro Tank Pvt Ltd.

The locals have asked the district collector that the godown is located close to a primary school and milk federation facility. It is built in violation of rules. If a fire breaks out in this godown, the entire village would suffer. Therefore the godown should be served a closure order. DeshGujarat
