AMC to build 2 escalator foot overbridges in Shahibaug

Shahibuag: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has planned to construct two pedestrian overbridges equipped with escalators in the Shahibaug area.

One of the overbridges will be erected over the road at the Camp Hanuman temple on the Cantonment gate, while the second will link Rajasthan Hindi Medium School to Swaminarayan Complex on Ambedkar Road. The estimated cost of building these overbridges is Rs 4.7 crore. The proposal for approving this contract will be presented at a meeting of the roads and building department, scheduled for May 5.

AMC had proposed the foot overbridge at the Camp Hanuman Temple gate 4 years ago but the Army Cantonment management rejected the proposal due to the area’s sensitivity. After several meetings, the Army eventually approved the project, and a tender was released. DeshGujarat
