Tribals who converted to Christianity have become IAS, IPS officers: Gujarat Cong MLA

Banaskantha: A Gujarat Congress MLA Geniben Thakor has made a claim that individuals from tribal communities who converted to Christianity years ago are now attaining positions as IAS and IPS officers.

During a mass marriage ceremony of couples from the Valmiki community in Bhabhar village, Banaskantha district, Congress legislator Geniben Thakor urged religious gurus involved in preserving Hinduism to take proactive measures to prevent conversions to other religions.

However, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, who was present at the event alongside Thakor, stated that tribals who embraced Christianity in the hopes of becoming IAS and IPS officers later realized it was a false promise.

Thakor claimed at the event that individuals from tribal areas who converted to Christianity years ago have now become IAS, IPS, mamlatdar (revenue officer), and DDO (district development officers). She mentioned that a significant number of tribals holding government jobs in Gujarat are those who converted to Christianity.

Thakor also noted that the Scheduled Caste community is increasingly attracted to Buddhism. She appealed to religious gurus and leaders working to preserve Hinduism to take revolutionary steps for these communities, emphasizing that if they are provided protection and respect, they would not consider converting to other religions.

Chaudhary, on the other hand, stated that some people were enticed into religious conversion with the promise that their children would become IAS officers. However, those who converted to another religion eventually discovered that their sons did not become IAS or IPS officers. DeshGujarat
