A Month Long Indian Women’s League to Conclude on Sunday

Ahmedabad: The Hero Indian Women’s League 2022-23 hosted by the GSFA at Ahmedabad since April 26, 2023 comes to an end on Sunday the 21st May 2023. After the series of league matches and the knock-out matches played at Shahibaug Police Stadium and TransStadia, Kankaria, the final match and the award ceremony is scheduled tomorrow at TransStadia.
The Gokulam Kerala Football Club and the Kickstart Karnataka Football Club emerged finalists yesterday subsequent to the semifinal matches. The final match will kick off at 6 p.m. in the flood-lit TransStadia. After the final match, an award ceremony is scheduled at the same place.
Shri Ajay Patel, Vice President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA); Shri Kalyan Chaubey, President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Rajya Sabha member Shri Parimal Nathwani, President of Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) will remain present to witness the final and grace the award ceremony. Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel has conveyed his good wishes for the final event.
Football lovers in Ahmedabad had great days as for the first time an IWL was held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. GSFA had a fleet of volunteer footballers who ensured proper hospitality for about 400 players and officials of 16 participating teams which came to Ahmedabad from across the country, conducted 63 matches at two different venues. The GSFA got great support from the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) and other government, non-government organisations, officials, etc in hosting and organizing the tournament. The AIFF observers/officials also camped in Ahmedabad for ensuring successful completion of the tournament within the framework of the norms. DeshGujarat
