4 Surat ice cream sellers face complaints as samples fail standards

Surat: The food department of the city civic body will file a complaint against four ice cream sellers in Surat after finding that their ice cream samples do not meet the standards.
In a press release, the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) stated that food safety officers from the food department conducted site inspections and collected ice cream samples from various establishments involved in the production, storage, and sale of ice cream. It was discovered that the ice cream samples from four establishments did not meet the required standards. The four establishments are Hanumante Icecream and Liquid, Amardip Icecream and Juice, Balaji Icecream Parlor, and Bharkadevi Icecream.
Specifically, the sample of Kaju Anjeer ice cream from Hanumante Icecream and Liquid (located at 5/150, Tarpan Building, Ruvala Tekra, Khaudhra Gali, Main Road, Surat), the sample of American dry fruit ice cream from Amardip Icecream and Juice (located in ward no. 15, Ambika Society, Fulpada, Katargam, Surat), and the sample of vanilla ice cream from Balaji Icecream Parlor (situated at shop no. A1, GF, Shivali Avenue, Damanwala Complex, Udhna, Surat) were found to have lower proportions of milk fat and milk protein and higher BR Reading than indicated.
