Monkey nuisance on Ahmedabad metro’s east-west corridor, delays trains
May 31, 2023
Ahmedabad: Monkeys in the city have become a nuisance along the east-west corridor of the metro, causing disruptions between Thaltej and Vastral.
The corridor passes through green areas with tall trees where monkeys reside. Metro officials have instructed train pilots to sound the horn as a precaution, but there have been instances where monkeys only move when trains get very close, leading to delays. Residents near the Navrangpura section of the corridor are concerned about the constant honking of metro trains. Honking will affect the sleep quality of the locals if operations are extended late into the night, acknowledged a senior metro official.
Unofficial requests have been made to the Municipal corporation to trim trees in the problem areas. DeshGujarat
