Over 55,000 policemen in Gujarat to get CPR training on June 11

Ahmedabad: The government announced on Wednesday that over 55,000 police personnel will receive training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on June 11.

Special training sessions will take place at 37 medical colleges and 14 other venues in the state, where doctors will instruct the police personnel on CPR techniques. The program, organized in collaboration with the state government, the Gujarat Chapter of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, and the state BJP doctor cell, will ensure that the police are equipped with life-saving skills.

In a recent event, a video of three city traffic policemen became viral as they administered CPR and saved a man’s life.

While stationed at Kalupur Circle, traffic policemen Nareshbhai Naginbhai, Mustakmiya Usmanmiya, and Hasmukhbhai Jogal encountered a man named Rafeeq Abdul, who suddenly fell ill while passing by on his Aktiva scooter. Sensing his distress, Abdul approached the policemen and sat down. Without hesitation, the three officers immediately began administering CPR when they noticed he was experiencing chest pains. Thanks to their timely intervention, the man’s life was saved. The West Traffic Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) felicitated the three policemen for their exceptional work. DeshGujarat
