Gandhinagar: The main opposition Congress party has made Rajya Sabha member and party’s national spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil as new president of Gujarat unit of party. Shaktisinh had been minister in the State government in 1990s. He had been Congress legislator in the State assembly from Bhavnagar and Abdasa. After losing the State assembly election twice from Bhavnagar and Mandvi seats, he shifted to national politics. Shaktisinh with immediate effect replaces outgoing State party president Jagdish Thakor. The party has also appointed Gujarat based Deepak Babaria as AICC in-charge of Haryana nd Delhi units.
