June 16, 2023
Ahmedabad: The standing committee of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has rejected a proposal to hire towing vans for the purpose of removing illegally parked vehicles. The committee stated that the responsibility of towing away illegally parked vehicles lies with the police, not the AMC.
The committee chief, Hitesh Barot, emphasized that the main role of the AMC is to provide essential services such as water and sewage. He added that the police are equipped with the necessary resources and should coordinate with traffic police to ensure a smooth towing process with minimal disruption. Furthermore, he expressed concern that if the AMC were to undertake this task, it could lead to confusion. DeshGujarat
