Upto 10 inches of rain in Kutch after landfall of cyclone Biporjoy

Kutch: After making landfall in Gujarat’s coastal areas on Thursday night, Cyclone Biparjoy’s intensity decreased from a “very severe cyclonic storm” to a “severe cyclonic storm.”
The coastal areas of the state experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds exceeding 115-120 kilometres per hour. Gandhidham in Kutch received the maximum amount of rainfall, with over 10 inches of rain lashing the coastal area after the landfall of Cyclone Biparjoy.
According to the latest data from the IMD, Lodhika Taluka in Rajkot recorded the highest amount of rainfall between 6 to 10 am today, measuring 76 mm (3 inches), followed by Gandhidham in Kutch with 69 mm (2.7 inches) of rainfall. Out of 252 talukas of the state 84 received light to heavy rain since today morning.
As per the government data from the beginning of the landfall process until 6 am this morning, Gandhidham in Kutch received the highest rainfall with 198 mm (approximately 8 inches), followed by Bhuj with 153 mm (6 inches) of rain.
