Another fake PMO officer arrested in Gujarat

Vadodara: Another fake PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) officer has been nabbed by Vadodara rural police in Waghodia village. The accused, identified as Mayank Parashuram Tiwari, had provided false information and identity to educational institutions in Vadodara to deceive and extort a significant sum of money. His targets were Parul University Limda and New Era School in Nizampura. The Waghodia Police nabbed him on Friday evening and are currently interrogating him.

The complaint states that in March 2022, Mayank Tiwari falsely represented himself as the Director Strategic Advisory of the PMO and sought admission for his family friend’s sons at New Era School. He was directed to meet with school trustees, Dr. Devanshu Patel, President of Parul University, and Dr. Gitika Patel, Vice President at Parul University.

Subsequently, Tiwari visited Parul University, where he claimed during a meeting with Geetika Patel that he held the position of Director Strategic Advisor at the PMO, based in Delhi. During the meeting, Tiwari discussed various educational matters and assured Geetika Patel that he would undertake research-related work in Gujarat. He claimed to be able to facilitate government approval, but he insisted that the financial burden be borne by Geetika Patel.

Later, it was discovered that Tiwari had collected money for the promised task, but there was no result for since a long period. The administrators initiated a private investigation into Mayank Tiwari’s identity, uncovering that he had provided false information while claiming to work in the PM’s office. His true identity was revealed to be Mayank Parasuram Tiwari, residing at 13 Panchaldham Society, New Sama Road, Vadodara, adjacent to Navarang Society. The school director was informed of this revelation two days ago, prompting the school to file a complaint. The complaint was lodged by Chandrasekhar Radheshyam Dadhich, an Administrative Officer at New Era Senior Secondary School.

Based on the complaint filed by the school administration, the Waghodia police took swift action on Friday and filed a case against Tiwari. He has been charged under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 170 (personating a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code. Consequently, Tiwari was detained and will produce in court for the remand. DeshGujarat
