Rickshaw driver who sexually abused an 8-year old tuition going girl nabbed in Surat

Surat: Police have nabbed a rickshaw driver Uzefa Muhammad Rafiq Buttler and seized his rickshaw in a sexual abuse case in which the victim is just an 8-year-old girl.

An 8 years old female student was sexually abused by him when she was walking to reach a tuition class. On the 21st of June, at around 6 pm, Rander based 8-year-old girl was walking to a tuition class near her home when a rickshaw stopped by her side and a rickshaw driver took her inside the rickshaw by force and sexually abused her. The girl child spoke about this to her parents with tears in her eyes.

Looking at the seriousness of this incident, the Police explored CCTV footage and identified Uzefa Muhammad Rafiq Buttler through the RTO registration number of the rickshaw.

According to DCP Harshad Mehta, the primary investigation revealed that Muhammad is a serial abuser and he has done similar crimes in the past. Police have booked Muhammad under POCSO and other sections of IPC. Police have also seized the rickshaw used in this crime. DeshGujarat
