Gujarat HC nullifies FIR against 86-year-old couple in dowry case

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court declared an FIR and related procedures null and void in a dowry case against an 86-year-old couple.
Justice Sandip N Bhatt ruled that the legal procedure was misused against the elderly couple through the FIR under Section 498-A. The high court emphasized that criminal prosecution should not be abused with the intention of tormenting or seeking personal revenge.
