Surat Police nab 2 for circulating obscene video of woman on social media

Surat: Cybercrime police have nabbed two people namely Faizal and Altaf for circulating an obscene video of a woman on social media after she refused to engage in a nude video call.

On the evening of May 14th, a 25-year-old woman from Surat received an obscene video from an unknown mobile number. The sender persistently demanded a nude video call on WhatsApp. The sender threatened to make the explicit video viral on social media if the woman did not comply with the demand. However, the woman refused to fulfil the demand. The accused sender then allegedly created a fake Instagram account and posted the explicit video of the woman, along with her photo and mobile number.

The woman filed a complaint at the cyber crime police station. The police have nabbed, Faizal, also known as Arbaz Amin Khan (20 years old, residing at house no. 5397, Bapunagar slums, near Makkaipul circle, Adajan Patiya, Surat, primarily from Uttar Pradesh), and Faizal’s friend, Altaf Ayubbhai Patel (21 years old, running a tea cart, residing at house no. 101, Patni colony, near Mulla Masjid, Variyavi Bajar, Surat, mainly from Kavli in Jambusar, Bharuch). During the investigation, it was revealed that Faizal sent the explicit video to Altaf, who then demanded nude video calls from the woman. After his demand was not met, he made the video viral.
