June 28, 2023
Ahmedabad: “I got caught in the love trap of a boy from another religion, and today my life is ruined. My younger sister also fell into the clutches of a boy from another religion to such an extent that she underwent not one, not two, not three, but five abortions. The boy from another religion took me to Uttar Pradesh under the pretext of marriage but kept me as a hostage for 7 years. He tortured me so much that even today, I shudder to remember those days. These are the words of a victim of love jihad from Ahmedabad. Two sisters from Ahmedabad have become victims of love jihad, and one of them has now filed a police complaint after contacting Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
As Hindu organizations are conducting various programs on issues like love jihad, there are also possibilities of raiding hotels in the coming days to take action against the heretical youth. Amidst all this, two sisters from the Gomtipur area of the city came in contact with Muslim youths and were forced to endure daily torture. A complaint has been registered at Gomtipur Police Station in Ahmedabad regarding this, and another complaint registration process has been initiated.
The elder sister was trapped in a love trap by Iqbal, a Muslim youth from Uttar Pradesh. After that, he threatened her with obscene photos and forced her to marry him, taking her to UP. The girl was held hostage in Pratapgarh, UP. After 7 years, she managed to escape and rescue her younger sister. The younger sister was also trapped by marrying another Muslim youth. The accused contacted the younger sister on Facebook under the Hindu name Manthan Joshi, and they got married. However, after the marriage, the girl discovered that the young man’s real name was not Manthan but Sohail Khan. Furthermore, serious allegations have been made regarding signing the affidavit of conversion after marriage.
The police have booked Iqbalhussain Anwarhussain Ansari of Sirai village in Pratapgarh district of UP, Anwar Hussain Ansari of Sirai, Abedabanu Anwarhussain Ansari of Sirai, and Shehzadhussain Anwarhussain Ansari of Sirai under charges of IPC Sections 376 (N) (rape), 377 (act against nature), and 344 (wrongful imprisonment). Additionally, IPC Sections 354 A(1)(i) (sexual harassment), 354 D (1)(i) (stalking), 506 (2) (threat to kill), 507 (intimidation), 498 A (committing cruelty), and Section 114 (incitement) have been invoked.
While speaking to the media, one of the victims said, “Every morning, when I left home, he used to come with an expensive bike, telling me that he loved me and wanted to marry me. At first, I fell into his trap, and then he ruined my life. He took me from here to Maharashtra, where he made me sign an affidavit that was written in Marathi, a language I didn’t understand. This is how my religion was changed.”
Continuing her statement, the victim said, “I was educated in Gujarati, and I did not know Marathi. But I was so madly in love that I signed it. I thought I was married, but in reality, we were not married, and I was forcibly converted. He then took me to his village in Uttar Pradesh, where I was told to eat non-veg, something I could never do. I was treated badly, and that’s how I got trapped in this situation.” DeshGujarat
