One nabbed for tearing down BJP hoarding, stoning former corporator’s office in Vadodara

Vadodara: Gorva police nabbed Arbaz Ali Saiyad, who broke the glass door at the office of former BJP corporator Rajesh Ayre and tore a hoarding of BJP MP Ranjanben Bhatt.

MP Ranjanben Bhatt had installed a hoarding about government schemes near Raopura Gandhinagar Gruh. The accused, Arbaz, tore the hoarding at 9:00 AM on June 30th. He then reached the residence of former corporator Rajesh Ayre in Suraj Society near Jhansi Ki Rani Circle in Subhanpura High Tension Road on an Activa two-wheeler and broke the glass door at his office below his residence by pelting a stone. Both incidents took place between 9:00 AM and 9:45 AM on June 30th.

Raopura police nabbed Arbaz Ali Sagirali Saiyad (age 25, lives in Fatima Residency near Madhunagar, Gorwa) on Saturday for tearing the banner of MP Ranjanben Bhatt. Gorwa police nabbed him on Sunday for breaking the glass door at former corporator Rajesh Ayre’s office.

The accused claimed that he had decided to pelt stones or tear down hoardings wherever he saw the “Kamal” (BJP symbol) because he had heard BJP and Bajrang Dal members speaking against Muslims in Ratri Bajar.

When he pelted stones at Rajesh Ayre’s office, the accused was wearing a monkey cap, helmet, and gloves, and he had applied dung to the number plate of his Activa to hide his identity. DeshGujarat
