ACB nabs head constable and home guard in bribe case in Vapi

Vapi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat has nabbed one head constable and one home guard from the Vapi GIDC police station in Valsad in a bribery case involving 2000 rupees.

The complaint in this case was lodged by Inspector K. R. Saxena of the Valsad and Dang A.C.B Police Station, who received a tip-off regarding the corrupt practices of the accused individuals, Sagarbhai Ranjitbhai Dodia (Unarmed Head Constable, Vapi GIDC) and Ashishbhai Amarnath Pal (Home Guard). Acting upon the information, Inspector Saxena set up a trap to catch them red-handed.

Truck No. DD-01-G-9639 of Punia Road Lines was used in the operation. It was parked on the service road along the Vapi GIDC and UPL company route. The accused arrived at the scene and demanded the truck’s documents from the driver, along with a bribe of ₹2000 to ₹3000, in order to avoid any legal action. After negotiations, the bribe amount was reduced to ₹2000. Both the accused individuals were caught red-handed while accepting the bribe outside the compound of the Vapi G.I.D.C. police station. Currently, both accused individuals are in detention. DeshGujarat
