Health insurance cover under PMJAY-MA yojana to double from July 11 in Gujarat: Govt

Gandhinagar: The citizens of Gujarat covered under PMJAY-MA yojana will get Rs. 10 lakh health insurance coverage from 11 July. Gujarat has as many as 1.78 crore Ayushyaman cardholders who can avail of free medical treatment across 2045 government and 795 private hospitals. At present the ceiling of medical cover is Rs. 5 lakh. It will be increased to Rs. 10 lakh from July 11.
Making this announcement, the State health minister Rushikeshbhai Patel today said that Gujarat is in fifth rank when it comes to the number of claims made by Ayushyaman card holders. The count of claims is 39 lakh from the year 2018 to 26 June 2023. These claims are worth Rs. 8,081 crore, for which Gujarat is in the second rank in the country. In the present year, Rs. 2800 crore worth of claims are registered so far. The figure may reach Rs. 3500 crores around. DeshGujarat
