Gandhinagar: Kalol taluka police has filed an FIR against a 35-year-old man from Mehsana for trespassing into the convoy of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel near Chhatral GIDC on the Ahmedabad-Mehsana highway on Tuesday afternoon.
The individual, identified as Manu Desai from Chadasana village in Kadi taluka of Mehsana, had borrowed a newly purchased SUV from his brother-in-law for a long drive. During the passage of the CM’s convoy on the highway, Desai entered the convoy just before the ambulance, which served as the tail vehicle. The police officers on duty, who noticed that the car had black films on all windows and lacked a license plate, instructed Desai to stop and exit the convoy. However, Desai allegedly continued driving.
Inspector Jagdish Budhelia of Kalol taluka police stated that the officers eventually managed to make Desai stop the SUV, park it on the roadside, and conduct a thorough search. No suspicious items were found inside the vehicle. Kalol taluka police have charged Desai with obstructing a public servant in the discharge of public duties under the IPC, in addition to charges under the Motor Vehicles Act. DeshGujarat
