ACB Gujarat nabs Senior Clerk at Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board in bribe case

Bhuj: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed a senior clerk employed in the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board (GWSSB) in connection with a bribery case involving Rs. 2500.

The complainant in this case was a peon working at the GWSSB office in Bhuj. He approached Shakeel Mohammad Arab, the accused who holds the position of Senior Clerk in the complainant’s department, to seek assistance with his post-retirement benefits after retiring in June 2023. The accused, however, demanded a bribe of Rs. 2500 to do the needful.

As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he filed a complaint with the ACB Bhuj. In a trap organized by the ACB today, the accused was caught accepting the bribe of Rs. 2500 from the complainant at the Chief Engineer Office of the GWSSB in Bhuj.
