One dead, 4 injured in building collapse in Mithakhali of Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: One person lost his life as a three-story building collapsed near TK House in the Mithakhali area here in the city. Five people were buried when the building collapsed. The fire team successfully rescued all the people, but unfortunately, one of them died during treatment at the civil hospital.

The incident occurred at 7:30 in the early morning when a building collapsed near TK House in the Mithakhali area amid rainy weather in the city. It was reported that five people were trapped under the building in Chorani Gali. The fire department team promptly reached the spot and rescued the trapped individuals including a minor girl. With the assistance of a JCB, the people trapped inside were rescued by removing the debris. Those with minor injuries were transferred to the hospital for treatment. One of these individuals succumbed to their injuries during treatment. MLA Amit Shah also arrived at the scene after being informed about the incident.

A resident living inside stated that the building suddenly collapsed, impacting the entire occupied structure where their whole family was present. Local witnesses revealed that the adjacent house fell onto their building. The fire department team arrived promptly, rescuing three individuals, including a small child.
