Two held in Mehsana for making fake marksheets

Mehsana: The Local Crime Branch today arrested two individuals on charges of producing fake mark sheets for 50 students.

According to the police, the main accused, Kuldeep Parmar, operated a photocopy shop where he forged mark sheets for Class 10, Class 12, and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), charging Rs 1,500 per document. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid on the shop, leading to the arrest of Parmar and his accomplice, Vijaysinh Laxmansinh, on Saturday.

It has been discovered that over a period of two months, the accused produced counterfeit mark sheets for 50 students. Some of these individuals secured employment in private companies based on the forged ITI mark sheets created by Parmar.

A case has been registered against both individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), and 471 (using fake documents as genuine).

Parmar, 23 years old, had rented a shop where he used Adobe Photoshop software, along with a printer and scanner, to alter names on the mark sheets to reflect higher scores. DeshGujarat
