July 18, 2023
Ahmedabad: The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) is expanding its boating facilities to encourage local engagement. Two new boating points will be added at Ghat no. 4 and near Dadhichi bridge, and a previously expired point at Vallabh Sadan will be reactivated. The boating services are set to begin in September, and they will be available year-round, even at water levels of 3-4 feet. Each boating point will have its own distinct routes to prevent overlap.
An SRFDCL official disclosed, “We received eight bids for the three boating points. Vallabh Sadan, with a starting price of Rs 43 lakhs and a 10% annual increase, was successfully claimed by Yahoo WaterSports from Mandvi for nearly Rs 1 Crore per year.”
Furthermore, the boating points at Ghat no. 4 and near Dadhichi bridge, with a base price of Rs 7 lakh and an annual 10% escalation, were awarded to Yash Amusement based in Udaipur for Rs 23 lakh and Rs 18 lakh per annum respectively. The contracts will run for a five-year term, with a potential two-year extension based on satisfactory performance and annual evaluations.
It is learnt that various types of boats, including speedboats, pontoons, motorboats, pedal boats, and jet skis, will be available at all locations. Vallabh Sadan will also feature additional attractions such as yachts, party boats, aqua rollers, aqua cycles, and smaller closed crew boats. DeshGujarat
