Gujarat likely to witness very heavy rain during July 20–22; Heavy rains on July 23–24

Gandhinagar: The monsoon is currently very active over the state of Gujarat, bringing heavy to very heavy downpour since last week. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of extremely heavy rainfall in several parts of Gujarat from July 20 to 22. After that, the intensity of rain is likely to decrease slightly, but some areas in Gujarat may still experience heavy rains from July 23. However, light to moderate rain is expected in all districts between July 20 and July 24.

According to the IMD bulletin, the monsoon has been vigorous over Saurashtra-Kutch and active over the Gujarat region. Extremely heavy rainfall has occurred at isolated places in the district of Saurashtra, namely Junagadh, and in the South Gujarat region, namely Valsad and Daman.

Over the past 24 hours, certain districts have witnessed very heavy precipitation at isolated places. In the Gujarat region, the districts of Valsad, Anand, Surat, Chhota-Udepur, Bharuch, and Daman reported very heavy rainfall. Additionally, in the Saurashtra region, heavy rainfall was recorded in the districts of Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, and Rajkot.

On July 20, Heavy to very heavy rains at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls are very likely in the district of Saurashtra, namely Porbandar, Junagadh, and Amreli Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places are very likely in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Vadodara, Bharuch, and Surat, and in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, and Gir Somnath.

Heavy rains at isolated places are very likely in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Navsari; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, namely Botad and Kutch; and in Diu.

On July 21, Heavy to very heavy rains at a few places, with isolated extremely heavy falls, are very likely in the district of Gujarat, namely Valsad and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Heavy to very heavy rains are very likely at a few places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Surat, Dang, and Navsari, and at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Amreli and Bhavnagar.

Heavy rains at isolated places are very likely in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Anand, Vadodara Bharuch, and Tapi, and in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Surendranagar, Junagadh Gir-Somnath, and Botad.

On July 22, Heavy to very heavy rains at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls are very likely in the district of Gujarat region, namely Valsad, Navsari, and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places are very likely in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Surat, Dang, and Tapi; in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Porbandar, Junagadh, and Gir-Somnath.

Heavy rains at isolated places are very likely in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Narmada, and Bharuch; and in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Surendranagar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, and Diu.

On July 23, Heavy rains at isolated places are very likely in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Banaskantha Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli, and in the district of Saurashtra, namely Surendranagar.
