Work permit in Japan fraud: Surat Police nabs Maksud, an alleged mastermind

Surat: Katargam police have nabbed the alleged mastermind in a case of fraud amounting to Rs 97 thousand, Maksud alias Ovesh Aminuddin Kazi, in Petlad of Anand. The fraud involved enticing a person with promises of a work permit in Japan and a job with a monthly salary of Rs 2 lakh.
The complaint was filed by Bharat Makwana, aged 36, residing in Santoshinagar near Lalita Chokdi in the Katargam area of the city (originally hailing from Khakbay village in Rajula, Amreli). He reported that the accused syndicate convinced him to pay Rs 97 thousand in exchange for a work permit for Japan and a high-paying job.
Prior to this, Katargam police had already caught Mohammadali Abdulrahim Sumra, aged 38, residing in Sanjognagar, Motapir road, near Taha Masjid, Bhuj, Kutch, (originally hailing from Kunariya in Bhuj), who was involved in online trading. Additionally, Habib Mohammad Sumra, aged 27, residing in Dhavalnagar, Layja road, opposite the forest department, Mandvi, Bhuj, and working as a home guard, was also nabbed for running a trade of mobile SIM activation.
Finally, the police managed to nab the mastermind behind the fraud, Maksud alias Ovesh Aminuddin Kazi, aged 50, residing in Kazivada, near Khatkivada masjid, Petlad, Anand.
