Patan: A 24-year-old youth named Darshil Thakkar from Patan lost his life in Houston, USA, in a hit-and-run case, where 14 cars passed over him while he was crossing the road.

Darshil Thakkar, the son of Rameshbhai Thakkar, who works as a teacher in a primary school in Khodana, Saraswati taluka, and lives in Shivkrupa society near TB Tran Rasta in Patan, went to the USA on April 9, 2023, for a trip on a visitor’s visa. He was supposed to return to India on September 26. On July 31, he went for a walk in Texas, USA, and was talking to his parents on a video call. While crossing the road, he noticed that the signal was closed, but it reopened while he was in the middle of the road. Unfortunately, 14 cars passed over him at high speed when the signal reopened.

Upon learning about Darshil’s death in the accident, his family appealed to the government to bring his dead body back to India. However, the doctors in the USA informed them that his body was not in a condition to be returned to India. His last rites will be performed in the USA on Sunday. DeshGujarat
