Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat has nabbed an individual, namely Shah Rukh Khan Pathan, here in Narol in a bribery case involving Rs. 25,000.
According to the complaint, a friend of the complainant was apprehended by personnel from Narol Police Station while in possession of two cans of beer and the complainant’s moped. The accused, Shah Rukh Khan Nasir Khan Pathan, intervened for mediation and initially demanded Rs. 100,000 as a bribe for the release of the complainant’s moped, suggesting that he could persuade the police personnel not to file a case. Later, the bribe amount was negotiated down to Rs. 25,000. After the accused’s intervention, the complainant’s moped and his friend were released. However, the accused persisted in demanding the bribe amount of Rs. 25,000.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, they contacted the ACB. Subsequently, in a trap set up by the ACB, the accused was caught red-handed while accepting Rs. 25,000 in the Narol area. The accused has been detained. DeshGujarat
