SC collegium recommends transfer of four Gujarat HC Judges to other States

Gandhinagar: The collegium of the Supreme Court of India has recommended transfer of four Judges of the Gujarat High Court to other States.
Recommendations are made for transfer of Justice Hemant Prachhak to Patna High Court in Bihar, Justice Samir Dave to Rajasthan High Court, Justice AY Kogje to Allahabad High Court in Uttar Pradesh and Justice Geeta Gopi to Madras High Court in Tamil Nadu.
Among them, Justice Hemant Prachhak is the Judge who had upheld lower court verdict of two-year imprisonment to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case filed by Purnesh Modi and denied him a stay on conviction in the case.
The collegium led by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud also comprises Justices S K Kaul, Sanjeev Khanna, B R Gavai and Surya Kant.
SC collegium has also recommended transfer of Justice C Manavendranath Roy of Andhra Pradesh High Court and Justice Avneesh Jhingam of Punbab & Haryana High Court to Gujarat. DeshGujarat
