Bhuj woman gives birth to quadruplets in her sixth pregnancy

Bhuj: A woman from Junawas in Madhapar village gave birth to quadruplets at Adani G. K. General Hospital in Bhuj. The mother underwent a caesarean section and is in good health. However, due to their premature birth and low birth weight, the babies have been admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Hospital gynaecologists, Dr Charmi Pavani and Dr Kanwal Shah revealed that the successful caesarean procedure resulted in the birth of four children, marking the sixth delivery for 34-year-old Maryat Sama, a resident of Junawas in Madhapar village. Among the newborns, there are three daughters and one son.

On the morning of August 14th, the mother sought consultation at GK Adani Hospital due to premature labour pains and her condition’s urgency. This led to an immediate caesarean operation for delivering the babies. Given the circumstances and her previous history of five normal deliveries, the case was deemed high-risk and dangerous.

The surgical team consisted of Dr Arju Patel, Dr Hena Modi, anaesthetist Dr Khyati Makwana, along with Dr Dhruv Virsodia, Dr Dixit Pansuriya, Varsha Bhudia, and Deepak Chandan, all collaborating as part of the nursing staff during the procedure. DeshGujarat
