Mukul Wasnik appointed as new in-charge of Gujarat Congress

Gandhinagar: Congress party’s national president has appointed Mukul Wasnik as the party’s general secretary in charge of Gujarat, replacing outgoing in-charge Raghu Sharma who had offered to resign after the party’s worst-ever defeat in the State assembly polls last year.  Congress party has also appointed Randeep Singh Surjewala with additional charge as General Secretary in-charge of Madhya Pradesh.

As per Wikipedia, Wasnik, a Buddhist by belief is from Maharashtra. He had been the Social Justice minister in the Centre. He is a member of the Rajya Sabha. He was elected as the youngest Lok Sabha MP at the age of 25 in 1985. Aged 63, he married his friend Raveena Khurana at the age of 60 in the year 2020.DeshGujarat
