Bhuj: A son allegedly caused a fire in the house by blasting a gas cylinder after his father refused to give money to him for snacks in Sukhpar village in Bhuj taluka.

Rameshbhai Dudhaiya, living in Junavas in Sukhpar, and working as a carpenter, filed a complaint at Mankuva police station. His son Hardik came home at 8.30 pm on 20th August and asked for money from his father Rameshbhai and mother Ramilaben for snacks. He got angry and spoke abusive words after his parents refused to give money. Hardik allegedly expelled his mother from the house by grabbing her neck when she refused him to speak abusive words. When his father Rameshbhai interfered, Hardik expelled him from the house by pushing and grabbing his neck.

Hardik then went to the kitchen and caused a fire by blasting the gas cylinder. He ran out of the house before the fire and closed the door. He told his parents after coming out of the house that he caused a fire in the house and a blast will occur soon. The blast caused damage to the household items including bed, fridge and other goods. It also caused damage to the shop besides the house given on rent. The main gate of the house broke and fell on the road due to the blast. It caused injuries in the leg of a pedestrian named Shantilal Parmar. He was admitted to a hospital for treatment.
