Gujarat on Red Alert: Extremely heavy, very heavy rains to continue till Sept 20

Gandhinagar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of extremely heavy rainfall in Gujarat today in its latest forecast.

The weather agency has issued a red alert for the Gujarat region, with extremely heavy rainfall expected, potentially exceeding 8 inches (204mm).

According to the official bulletin, Kutch and Morbi are likely to experience extremely heavy rainfall today, i.e., on the 19th of September.

Rajkot, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Porbandar are under an orange alert with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains. However, Banaskantha, Patan, Surendranagar and Junagadh are expected to receive only heavy rains.

On the 20th of September, Heavy rains are expected at isolated places in the districts of Kutch, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar.

From 21st of September, the rainfall in state will subside with only Light to moderate rain expected at isolated places in several districts of Gujarat.

Extremely heavy rainfall occurred in isolated places in the districts of Junagadh. Very heavy rainfall occurred at Patan, Mahesana, Banaskantha and Junagadh.
