Income Tax dept conducts search at around 40 locations in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Income Tax Department is conducting a search operation today at several places here in the city, including the offices of the real estate developer Swati Procon and its associates.

An extensive Income Tax operation is currently underway in Ahmedabad, with search operations being carried out at 35 to 40 locations. A chemical conglomerate in Naroda, namely MaheshRaj Chemicals Pvt. Ltd, with ties to Swati, is also being subjected to searches. The partners of Swati, including Ashok Agarwal and Saket Agarwal, are under investigation, and stringent measures are being taken.

The Income Tax department has also conducted a raid on its head office located on Ambli Road.

More than 100 officials from Ahmedabad, Baroda, and Rajkot have joined the Income Tax department’s operation. As this investigation unfolds, there is a possibility of uncovering large-scale benami transactions. DeshGujarat
