Medical care at Garba events: Gujarat Health department issues instructions
October 09, 2023
Gandhinagar: The department of Health, Government of Gujarat has through a circular instructed its officials to provide the facilities of medical teams, ambulances and round-the-clock medical treatment for any health related emergency arising at Garba events during upcoming Navratri festival.
The circular reads: Navratri Mahotsav is going to start in coming days during which Ras Garba events are organized in urban and rural areas. Among them some events take place at very large scale, where very large number of devotees gather and play Ras Garba. In order to provide urgent medical treatment to citizens at such places, medical teams with ambulance should be made available at the venues. Also medical treatment and availability of doctors should be offered on round the clock basis at nearby health centres and hospitals.
The circular has been issued by Dr. Nilam Patel, Additional Director (Public Health).
Though there’s no mention in the circular, this move is probably in connection with the incidents of heart attacks that are noticed recently at public events. DeshGujarat
