Ban on victory processions in Vadodara after India vs. Pakistan match

Vadodara: The city police here has imposed a ban on all kinds of victory processions after the India vs. Pakistan match on October 14, to be played in Ahmedabad. The match is on Saturday, and from Sunday, the Garba festival of Navratri will start. Keeping in mind the law and order situation, no victory processions are allowed in the city.

Rapid Action Force (RSF), along with the State Reserve Police (SRP) and local police, are deployed in the city’s Char Darwaja area and other communally sensitive areas in the walled city.

In addition to this, barricading will be done on the main state highways of the city. Areas such as Wadi, Pani Gate, Kareli Bagh, GB Road, and Warasiya will see a heavy police presence. Other areas where forces will be deployed include Atal Bridge, Akota, Dandiya Bazar Road, and Fatehganj.

Vadodara Police Commissioner, Anupam Singh Gehlot, has taken this decision to prevent any altercations or incidents that could occur in victory processions after the high-voltage India vs. Pakistan match. DeshGujarat
