Will take you to Lok Sabha if you wish, says Patil to a leading businessman in Rajkot; businessman says “no” to politics

Rajkot: CR Patil, the Gujarat president of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a lighter tone, publicly offered businessman Maulesh Ukani an opportunity to contest the election on BJP ticket if Ukani is ready. Ukani however later after the function, replying queries of media, conveyed thanks to Patil but added that his path was not in direction to politics, but in direction to serving his faith and he didn’t want to go to Delhi or Gandhinagar but to Dwarka(a pilgrim town).

A blood donation camp was organized in Rajkot to mark the birthday of Ukani. Patil attended this function and conveyed birthday wishes to Ukani. Patil in his speech went on to say that there was discussion going on about taking Mauleshbhai Ukani to Lok Sabha. If Mauleshbhai is ready to enter, then certainly we can take him (there). Patil admired Ukani’s public service works and also attended Ukani’s weighing against blood.

Ukani later replying to related queries of the media thanked CR Patil for his good feelings for him but said his path is not to Gandhinagar or Delhi but to Dwarka. Ukani said he seeks blessings from people so that he can reach the feet of Dwarkadhish. He said it is his final decision not to enter politics and it is well known.

Ukani belongs to politically active and influential Kadva Patidar community. Rajkot Lok Sbaha seat presently is represented by a Kadva Patidar community member and BJP leader Mohanbhai Kundariya.

Ukani family’s five-star destination wedding ceremony at Umaid Bhavan in Jodhpur was in the news about a year ago for its grandness.
