Gujarat police doesn’t wait for Dussehra to burn Ravan of drugs: Harsh Sanghavi

Surat: On the occasion of Vijayadashami (Dusshera), Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, conducted a traditional Shastrapujan ceremony today, alongside police personnel. The ceremony of worshiping weapons, known as Shastrapujan, took place at the Surat Police Headquarters, with Sanghavi and senior police officers participating, including Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar.

During the event, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Harsh Sanghvi, highlighted that Surat city has experienced a significant increase in crime detections in recent years. Crime rates have notably decreased, and humanitarian initiatives are on the rise. He commended both the Surat and Gujarat police for their rapid progress in this regard.

Stating that Gujarat Police does not wait for Dussehra to burn Ravana in the form of drugs, Minister Sanghvi stressed that the Gujarat Police is actively addressing drug-related issues, not only within Gujarat but also in various cities across the country. Over the past two years, the Gujarat Police has outperformed other states in seizing drugs. He emphasized that these efforts constitute a war against drugs, rather than a mere campaign, and he provided assurance that they would entirely eliminate drug-related problems.
