Metro train project affected people protest for want of new houses

Gomtipur: As many as 34 house owners staged protest by sitting on hunger strike outside the Ahmedabad Metro train workshop at New Cotton Mill, claiming that they have not been compensated with new house allotment. They claim as many as 67 housing units were demolished in Gomptipur area based Jethiben ni chali due to rollout of Metro train project in the city. Out of that 32 house owners were compensated and given new houses, while rest of 34 affected house owners are yet to get new house in replacement of old.
