Vadodara Municipal Corporation has no dedicated CNCD
October 30, 2023
Vadodara: Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will start implementation of the new cattle policy from 1st November to curb the menace of stray cattle. However unlike Surat and Ahmedabad municipal corporations, VMC has no provision of Cattle nuisance control department.
In Surat and Ahmedabad, class-one officers take care of Cattle Nuisance Control Department (CNCD). In Vadodara however, the task is handled by dabaan shakha(anti encroachment branch) that has four staffers, while other staff is outsourced. VMC has 8 Bolero and 6 tractor trailers to carry out operations against stray cattle nuisance.
VMC has four cattle camps where captured stray cattle are kept. In anticipation of implementation of new policy against stray cattle from 1st November, VMC is setting up another 300-capacity cattle camp behind Swaminarayan mandir at Atladra. DeshGujarat
