October 31, 2023
Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed two police personnel in a bribery case amounting to ₹1,000 here in the city.
According to the case details, a case was registered against the complainant, and his motorcycle was seized by the Bapu Nagar Police Station. In an attempt to get his motorcycle released, the complainant visited the Diamond Police Chowki. At that point, a female police sub inspector named J. S. Raval and police constable Rinku Punambhai Patni (Writer at the choki) demanded ₹2,000 for their assistance. The complainant paid ₹1,000 and was instructed to pay the remaining amount at a later date.
Since the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he contacted the ACB, which subsequently set up a trap and caught Rinku Patni red-handed while accepting the bribe. The accused sub inspector, JS Rawal, was also nabbed from the police chowki. Both suspects have been detained, and further investigation is ongoing. DeshGujarat
