FM Sitaraman to inaugurate first GST Suvidha Kendra at Vapi in Gujarat

Vapi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman will inaugurate India’s first GST Suvidha Kendra at Vapi in Valsad district of South Gujarat. There are 12 GST Suvidha Kendras planned in Gujarat. Vapi is part of the Finance Minister of Gujarat, Kanubhai Desai’s Pardi assembly seat constituency.
The Gujarat government has announced to opening of GST Suvidha Kendras at 12 places across the State as a pilot project. According to Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, a biometric-based Aadhar authentification process will be carried out at such Kendras for those seeking registration under the GST law.
An applicant will need to go to GST Suvidha Kendra with the uploaded original documents. With the latest equipment and trained staff, the process of identification of an applicant will become speedy and smoother, said the minister.
Such GST Suvidha Kendra will be set up at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mahesana, Palanpur, Vadodara, Godhra, Surat, Vapi, Gandhidham, Rajkot, Junagadh and Bhavnagar, the minister said.
The applicant will need to decide a time and day convenient to him/her to pay a visit to GST Suvidha Kendra where the uploaded original documents will need to be shown physically for Aadhar verification. The applicant will be photographed and Aadhar authentification will be done using the biometric method.
At the end of this process, a decision on the allotment of the registration number will be taken through a single window clearance. DeshGujarat
