A laborer in Surat invites trouble as he tries a remedy of illness suggested on social media

Surat: A migrant laborer youth consume camphor mixed with banana as treatment of piles, as suggested online in some social media post. His health deteriorated after consuming this stuff and he was hospitalized.

Pandesara based Devkinandna Society resident, 27-year old migrant lesspatti factory worker Chetan Bhagwan Mali was suffering from piles for a long, for which he did online search and he found out a “remedy” of consuming banana mixed with camphor in the form of a social media post. Believing in this online suggestion, he consumed banana mixed with camphor and went ill. He was taken to civil hospital for treatment. The doctors in the light of this incident, advised that such remedies suggested in social media posts need not to be taken seriously, and for any treatment, the doctors should be consulted first.
