False claim about faulty design of new flyover in Surat debunked

Surat: Several news reports have been circulating since Wednesday after a video of a new flyover built in the Kalakunj area here in the city went viral on social media. The video showed that a bus couldn’t turn on the newly inaugurated bridge and was stuck there allegedly because of its faulty design.

Posting the video of the narrow bridge, showing that a state transport bus cannot turn on it, Gujarat Congress on its Twitter account wrote, “New deed of BJP government! Have you ever seen such development? Even the government bus cannot turn on the new bridge!”

However, the reality of the video turned out to be different, as the flyover is not designed for the movement of heavy vehicles. It was the fault of the driver who took that flyover even when there was a signboard on the flyover prohibiting the entry of buses and trucks.

The signboard on the bridge clearly states that entry is prohibited for vehicles over 7.5 meters in length.

This false narrative about the wrong design of the bridge went viral on social media until citizens themselves disputed the false claim, calling out the myth. DeshGujarat
