A 6-year old child dies in a lift accident in Ahmedabad; a 10-year old dies in monkey attack in Dahegam

Ahmedabad: A 6-year old male child named Arya Kothari today evening died in lift (elevator) accident in Vasant Vihar flat in Shahibaug area. A victim child was playing on the ground floor of C block and later went to the lift. He was moving inside the lift when suddenly the lift started working and he was stuck between the ground floor and first floor. As he started shouting, the people rushed to help him but he was badly stuck. The residents called the fire brigade and 108 emergency service and were eventually rescued by fire staff. The victim child died on the spot. His death was confirmed on the way to Asarwa civil hospital.

In another incident of unusual death, a ten years old male child Dipak Thakor was today evening playing near a temple in Salki village of Dahegam taluka, when a monkey suddenly came towards him and caused him grave injury in his stomach by biting, following which his intestine came out of the body and he died on the spot. The villagers have approached the Forest department to capture the monkey to prevent its further attacks on humans in future. DeshGujarat
