November 15, 2023
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today flagged off a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (a yatra pledging developed India) from Ambaji. The Statewide yatra will pass through the tribal populated areas of Gujarat and cover 13,848 locations where the population is more than 10,000 persons.
Raths(moving vehicles) as part of this yatra will connect the rural people to various schemes implemented by the Central government. During the yatra, gram sabha(village meetings) and health camps shall be organized in villages en route.
While Chief Minister Patel flagged off the yatra in Gujarat, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off similar yatras nationwide from Jharkhand.
Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections next year, this yatra is seen as a crucial attempt to further strengthen the position of the ruling party in the last mile tribal populated areas nationwide. Janjatiya (Scheduled Caste) Gaurav divas(Pride Day) has been chosen for start of these yatras. Ambaji from where the yatra was kicked off in Gujarat is located in Banaskantha district of North Gujarat. DeshGujarat
